Protect Your Netbook From Damage!
A great netbook isn't cheap, in fact they are almost as expensive as laptops if you want one with advanced multimedia capabilities. I am always amazed however that people are willing to spend $400+ on a netbook but hardly ever willing to invest as little as $10 into a netbook sleeve.
Netbooks are typically resilient, and hardware failure uncommon, but they are more delicate than laptops and if you drop one you are in trouble. If you break a netbook screen then it is unlikely to be economical to fix, and you can bet your life that accidental damage like that is not covered with a warranty or by your insurance policy.
All you need is a cheap neoprene sleeve to protect that netbook against damage, all of the typical laptop accessory brands produce sleeves in netbook sizes, you can get a Belkin sleeve for around $10 for example, case logic make some great netbook sleeves with handles for around $15.
You can get 10 inch netbook sleeves, 11 inch netbook sleeves, and 12 inch netbook sleeves, there really is no excuse for you not to buy protection. I am sick to the back teeth of people moaning about their damaged netbook and bemoaning the quality of the construction, nine times out of ten the damage is their fault. Don't be one of those idiots, get yourself a sleeve!
Three Key Factors That Typically Determine a Laptop’s Price
There are some three key factors that typically determine a laptop’s price. We talk of these as being ‘key factors’ because we are awake to the fact that there are several other minor factors that may still have an effect on a laptop’s price, over and above the ones we are just about to look at. The three factors we are just about to look at are, however, the key factors that determine a laptop’s price.
Without further ado, the three key factors that typically determine a laptop’s price include:
- The amount of Random Access Memory (RAM) in the laptop: this is where we tend to find laptops with more RAM going for higher prices than those with relatively little RAM. Thus, a laptop with 1 GB in terms of RAM would tend to be sold at a substantially higher price than one with 256 or 512 MB or RAM. Of course, the people who pay more money for the laptops with more RAM get to benefit from the better computing speeds associated with such laptops.
- The type of processor in the laptop: this is where we tend to find laptops with ‘superior’ processors being sold at higher prices than laptops with ‘inferior’ processors. Thus, for instance, laptops models with core i5 processors would tend to have lower price tags than, say, those that are equipped with i7 processors. But there are always debates on whether the monies spent in this ways are monies well spent: like where i5 vs i7 comparisons reveal that there are no noticeable differences in performance between the computers with the two types of processors.
- The amount of secondary storage space in the laptop: this is where we tend to have laptops with ‘big’ hard disks going for higher prices than those with more modest hard disks. Thus, a laptop with a 40 GB hard disk would in ordinary circumstances be sold at a higher price than one with, say, a 10 GB hard disk.
MacBook Pro vs MacBook Air – Which To Choose?
What a nice choice to have! You've decided that you next laptop will be a Mac the only question is do you prefer the Pro or the Air?
Well - sorry but its quite a complex question: MacBook Pro vs MacBook Air there are significance differences between these two lines of laptops - you need to first consider what your requirements are.
Will You Be Carrying Your MacBook Regularly?
As laptops have replaced desktops many of them actually don't get carrying around much. If you are carrying your Macbook around frequently then you really need to consider that smaller is better. MacBook Pros come in sizes up to 17" - but this is far too big if you need to take it to work or class every day.
If you regularly commute or travel with a Macbook consider the 11" Air or the 13" Pro or Air models.
MacBook Pro vs MacBook Air: Which is Best for Graphics
Well both ranges run Apple's famous OS X /Lion OS - but if you are working with graphic heavy packages then screen size is important. As the largest Macbook Air is a 13" you may want to conside a MBP instead. Or an external monitor (or two)
Also be aware that the MacBook Air does NOT come with an optical drive. Because the Air is so thin they do not ship with an optical drive. You can however buy an external drive and plug it in. For best performance though you may be better off considering the MacBook Pro range with their integrated DVD r/w drives.
Price Considerations: MacBook Air or MacBook Pro?
MacBook Airs cost more. This is just not because they win of the "cool factor". Its practical - because of their incredibly thinnest the drives are solid state rather than traditional hard drives which physically spin. Solid state drives are very robust and fast - but they are expensive. That's why you pay more money for less computing power and features in the MacBook Air compared to the equivalent Macbook Pro.
Whichever you decide on, a Macbook Pro or a Macbook Air are both very nice computers that will give you years of good service. However neither of them are cheap, so take your time and think about what you really need your Macbook for, and how you are going to use it.

The launch of Power Rangers Samurai and Anno 2070
Over the next couple of weeks, gamers all over the world will join together in a sigh of relief. After a long wait and a series of never ending demo releases, two new games will finally get launched just in time for the Holidays. The first one is developed for the Nintendo Wii platform and called Power Rangers Samurai. You are probably familiar with the whole Power Rangers thing on Nickelodeon TV. Five friends with Ninja superpowers are faced with challenging enemies from the underworld. In other to protect the world from evil, they will have to familiarize with the meaning of ancient symbols. But that’s only one part of the story, for a good portion there is a lot of sword fighting and combat action.
The second game in made for PC users and called Anno 2070. Yes, it is indeed a new version of the popular Anno Series that probably all of us have played at some point in their lives. But as you can tell by the title, this time there’s a little twist. The game developers decided to make a projection into the future – therefore, you will have to save your civilization from rising water levels due to global warming, and other apocalyptic challenges.
